Went out for cold-slab ice cream last night to celebrate my son’s completion of summer-school math. I got chocolate cake-batter ice cream mixed with peppermint patties.

Along those same lines, we’re reading “The Hobbit” together as a family before bedtime. The boys found the first chapter a little long and boring, but enjoyed the second where they encounter trolls.

Just checked out Patrick O’Brian’s next book, “Post Captain” from the library. It’s a bit different than listening to it on my MP3 player.
